I think he was talking to me when he said:
“If anyone reading this is questioning their decisions or considering doing something other than what they are “supposed” to do, my advice to you is to find a way to make your career what you want it to be – maybe that’s tenure, or maybe that’s hodgepodging the job you want.”
Because I love my students and am inspired by our engagement, but I don’t like the system that brings us together. #upsetthesetup
I love this! He makes me feel so much better about not knowing exactly what I want to do. I’m in the “I know I don’t want to do this” stage of my life. He gives me hope. What success looks like for others will probably look little different for me.

Hope = still wishing I coulda made a FT job out of that painting gig–it was like doodling for dollars. And I’m quite a good doodler. If I found that obscure gig, I have faith that I will find my way.
